Videoperformance: ”ME, SANTACLAUS AND A FATHER” 1997 -2000

There are TV-monitor and chair on the stage. I enter the stage and sit on the chair. I am watching a home video dating back to my childhood. the video was shot on a Christmas Eve while Father Christmas is visiting a family. I know the lines by heart in the same way as I am familiar with certain classic movies, I repeat them aloud, while watching, the visiting Santa Claus that intrude in the middle of the family crushes the rules ant the authorities of the family by dominating the situation., Now the role of the Santa Claus has been  passed from my father to me

Esityksen lähtökohtana on kotoa löydetty videodokumentaatio Joulupukin vierailusta.

Tilanne on lavastettu uudelleen ja nyt Joulupukin rooli on siirtynyt isältä pojalle.

Joulupukin hahmo toimii samaistumisen vahvistavana välittäjänä.

Perheeseen tunkeutunut ”vieras” kuumentaa ja kärjistää perheen valtarakenteita ja lataa tilanteen itsensä näköiseksi.

Työ on kahdessa eri muodossa, videoinstallaationa ja performanssina.
